Junior Honor Society
-
The National Junior Honor Society is the nation's premier organization established to recognize outstanding middle level students. More than just an honor roll, NJHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship. These characteristics have been associated with membership in the organization since its beginning in 1929. (source: https://www.njhs.us/utility/about-us)
Members of Lake George Jr-Sr High School's Lac du Saint Sacrement Chapter of National Junior Honor Society are called upon to exhibit the ideals of scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship --and encourage them in others. Students in 7th and 8th grades who maintain a 90 average are academically eligible to be considered for induction. Academically eligible students are invited to submit additional information about their leadership, service, and co-curricular activities to assist the Faculty Council in selecting students for induction. Feedback from teachers is also collected. New members are inducted in May each year and remain members through the end of 9th grade, provided they maintain the standards that led to their induction.
